Diocaesarea (Uzuncaburc) is situated about 30km north of Silifke in the district of Mersin. The ancient city with Diocaesarea (Uzuncaburc) was the capital of the Olga dynasty.
The origins of the civilization go back to Luwians. Persian Satrabs continued to intervene in the administration of Olba between the second half of the 6th century BC and 323 BC.

The Temple is located on the south side of the collonaded street, constructed by L. Seleukus Nikitor. It is the most important and impressive building on the site.
Temenos Wall
A remarkable wall called a temenos surrounds the whole sanctuary. Because of its architectural approach having 36 Corinthian styles of columns embracing the structure, this building is an actual example of the Anatolian architecture of its time. During the Roman Period, the Temple was converted to a church.

The Propylon
The five columns at the entrance of the site are the remains of the Propylon which provides the temenos entrance of the ancient city.
The Propylon was made of 2 rows of 6 Corinthian columns. The upper part of the central passage was arched.
The building dates to the end of the 2nd century AD.
The North Gate
The North Gate is located at the end of the North-South collonaded street, with more than 30m; it is pretty impressive.
The building dates to the end of the 2nd Century AD and the beginning of the 3rd Century. Between 395-408, it was renovated after an earthquake.

The Theatre
This Roman theatre, situated in the eastern part of the city, dates from the 2nd Century AD. The excavations started in 1993 and uncovered cavea and scene construction.
The Tyche Temple
The Tyche Temple dates back to the second half of the first century AD. The temple measures 47x12m, and there is an inscription panel located on an architrave block saying that the building was constructed as a gift to the city by Oppius and his wife, Kyria.

The Hellenistic Tower
The ground floor of the tower is used as a storage room. All the upper floors were living quarters. In the Olga era, the priest-kings were living in this tower.

If you have a Museum Pass, the entrance is free; otherwise, you pay a small fee entrance fee (at the time of our visit, but beware, prices can change).

The Pyramid Roof Tomb
The Pyramid Roof Tomb is not situated in the ancient site itself; it is located about 2 km away towards the southeast of Diocaesarea. But visible from the site. Its name comes from the triangular shape of the roof. Through a small rectangular door, you can enter the burial chamber.
