Cadianda

An Ancient Site Hidden In The Woods

By Slowtravelguide

The natural beauty of Turkey strikes me every time again. In the case of Fethiye, from the blue lagoon of Ölüdeniz or St. Nicholas Island to Butterfly Valley and its hidden waterfalls

Nature rules!

Almost everywhere you look, you can see the pine forest and mountains in the distance. In the woods close to Uzumlu, you will find Cadianda (or Kadyanda), an ideal place for amazing hikes in a historical and fairytale atmosphere.

Fairytale Forests

Cadianda Necropolis

An Ancient Site With A Hike In The Forest

Visiting Cadianda will bring you its history and vibrant natural scenery. All year round is a beautiful day because trees can withstand the heat and cold.

The site is located on a hill above Fethiye, Turkey. It is not disturbed.

Except for some informative signs, you will feel that most of this place is still undiscovered.

When you leave the exploration path around the necropolis, you will notice that pine needles hide graves of various sizes.

From time to time, you walk through a deep underground hole and discover that essential parts of the city are still hidden.

An exciting feeling!

What Is Impressive About Cadianda?

The walk takes you from one surprise to the next along the scenic trails and distant scenery.

What is impressive about Cadianda is not the exquisite statues and pillars but the tranquil entanglement of historical relics and nature, creating new and unique beauty.
